Ming Is More of the Intelligent Search Engine

Bill Gates was personally a Bing fan, since the day this new search engine was launched. Reason #1 – Bing is backed up by Microsoft, Reason #2 – Go and ask Gates, why he loves Bing so much.

Anyways, I was saying that when Bing was launched, Microsoft was really strapped up for showing down Google that whole “who’s the boss routine”. Its been a year so lemme ask what Bing has been up to? Where was/where is Bing currently standin?

A Deeper Search

Microsoft’s Director of Live Search – Stefan Weitz said that Bing was always more of the intelligent/self automated search engine. It’d make decisions on its own and users could find answers in the first few clicks.

The Awareness Campaign

Microsoft literally dumped millions of dollars on the advertising campaigns for Bing.Com. Some users were even wooed through small time cash offers, in return for making searches through Bing. But Microsoft admitted the failure and went back to whence it came from…

Market Share

As comapred to Google, the company that holds 70% of the online market, Bing is just a small fish, floating around 9% of the market share. But do keep a close eye on Bing because eversince it opened up, it has grown 3 times in size, as compared to its old state.

The Future

Okay this one is a 50 – 50 deal as some people thing that Bing has a bright future, and some folks say that Bing is headed for the gallows. But here’s a fun fact, try as hard as you can, but you’ll never get close to Google or Yahoo.
